Heidi Vermeer-Quist

Heidi Vermeer-Quist is a licensed clinical psychologist and family business consultant with more than 25 years of experience in psychological assessment and psychotherapy and 15 years of experience in family business consulting. She has pursued specialized training in organizational psychology, family business governance, and multigenerational family enterprise.
A third-generation member of the Vermeer family, Heidi has been a champion of family business continuity and effective governance. From 2008 to 2017, she helped update and develop the Vermeer family office and governance systems supporting Vermeer Corporation. She has served in numerous family governance roles, including establishing and chairing the Ownership Council and serving on the Vermeer Corporation Board of Directors. Heidi continues to be an active and engaged shareholder and currently serves on the Ownership Council Governance Committee and Family Camp Committee.
Through Generation6, as well as her own consulting firm, VQ Consult, Heidi provides family business and organizational consulting services, helping families strengthen governance, communication, leadership, and long-term stewardship.
In her clinical psychology career, Heidi served on the Iowa Board of Professional Psychology from 2011 to 2020. In 2018, she and her husband, Chad Quist, acquired the clinical practices where she had worked for 15 years. Together, they expanded the practices and developed the team using the Entrepreneurial Operating System, including EOS tools and processes, before selling the organization in 2025.
Heidi currently provides part-time clinical services through New Life Counseling in West Des Moines, Iowa, as well as equine-assisted psychotherapy in Central Iowa.
She is also the author of books focused on mental and emotional health and has provided numerous trainings on family business governance and healthy family enterprise.
