Dr. Ellen Astrachan-Fletcher, FAED, CEDS-S, is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist and leading expert in mood, anxiety, and eating disorders. She serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Illinois Chicago, where she has taught and supervised psychiatry residents, fellows, psychology interns, and doctoral trainees for more than three decades.

In addition to her extensive clinical work, Ellen advises individuals, families, and family enterprises navigating complex interpersonal and emotional dynamics. Her expertise includes supporting families affected by trauma, mental health challenges, and addiction, as well as helping family members improve communication, manage conflict, develop emotional resilience, and navigate the unique pressures associated with family legacy, wealth, and multigenerational relationships.

Ellen is a senior clinician in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) and a nationally recognized authority in both Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Family-Based Treatment (FBT). She is a frequent speaker, educator, and media contributor on topics related to mental health, emotional well-being, and family functioning.

She is the co-author of The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook for Bulimia and The Radically Open DBT Workbook for Eating Disorders, both widely used by treatment professionals and treatment centers throughout the United States.
